High School students in Boston made this documentary. They did the research and the interviews, asking students from urban and suburban schools what their school were like. What they found was shocking.
In summary, students in urban schools have poor facilities, teachers with - by and large - very low expectations of students, and minimal course offerings. Suburban schools, in contrast, are the polar opposite.
As you watch, remember that there is a lot of variance within urban and suburban schools; in other words, there are some really bad urban schools and some really good ones, and the same goes for suburban ones.
Nevertheless, I was amazed and appalled. This video speaks to the realities and inequalities that exist in America's urban core.
